Rules and Regulations

1. General Guidelines

1.1 The FFL shall be held as per the schedule provided to all teams. Managers and captains are expected to ensure player punctuality.

1.2 Managers will be considered as organisers of the League. All decisions will be taken only by the referee and managers. Players must adhere to manager decisions or face disciplinary action.

1.3 The League will consist of two rounds of group matches and a final between the top two teams.

1.4 Any changes in the schedule will be provided to the managers and captains one day in advance. It is their responsibility to inform players if needed.

1.5 All players must adhere to the Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in a penalty for the concerned team and/or removal of the player and/or team from the League.

1.6 The referee’s decisions will be final. Opposition to the referee’s decision will lead to consequences for the responsible team. The referee may use the assistance of non-playing captains for his decisions during the game.

1.7 Managers will be responsible for score-keeping at all games.

1.8 Three points will be awarded to the winning team and one point will be awarded to both teams for draws. There will be no penalty shoot-outs in the group stage.

1.9 Players must turn up for the game with correct equipment and uniforms. Players will only be allowed to play with proper shoes, shorts, jerseys, and shin-pads. All kinds of jewellery is prohibited on the field. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the player being asked to leave the ground.


2. Gameplay

2.1 The format will be 7+5 for Senior Boys, 8+6 for Junior Boys, 6+5 for Sub Juniors, and 5+2 for Girls. If a team is missing more than 2 players at the scheduled time, it will forfeit the match immediately.

2.2 Match timings: 25 minutes a half for Senior and Junior Boys, and 15 minutes a half for Girls and Sub Juniors. Extra time will be added as per the discretion of the referee.

2.3 Out-of-touch balls will result in a throw-in for Junior and Senior Boys and kick-ins for Sub Juniors and Girls. Corner and goal kick rules will apply as per standard rules.

2.4 Goalkeepers may throw but not kick the ball up-field. Back-passes being handled by the keeper will result in an indirect freekick.

2.5 Yellow and red cards will be shown as per the usual rules of football. A red card will result in suspension for one half of the next game. Three yellow cards will result in suspension for one half of the next game.


3. Discipline

3.1 Disciplinary matters will be dealt with extremely severely, ranging from a suspension for the day to expulsion from the league permanently.

3.2 The organisers will consult with only the managers on disciplinary matters. If a player would like to appeal any decision, they may write a letter to the organisers. A response to the same will be provided at the discretion of the organisers.

3.3 The following actions will invoke strict disciplinary actions against the concerned player and team:
            a. Dangerous play on the ground.
            b. Use of unsporting language or gestures by any participant.
            c. Teasing or making fun of any participant/audience member of the League.
            d. Disrespecting the manager/organisers of the League.

3.4 Any complaint about behaviour is to be handed to the organisers through the managers as a properly written formal letter only.
